On-going Safety Concerns                                    22 Jan 2010

Dear Parents,

I am writing to all parents with regard to the on-going safety concerns caused by the parking and drop off activity that takes place at the beginning and end of the school day.

I appreciate that there are a number of parents who live further afield and therefore need to drive to school. However, there is no need for anyone to drive past the front of the school. It is a very congested area with many families walking with young children who are put at risk by the cars parking across footpaths, too close to the zebra crossing or reversing into the side road where children are crossing. Please can I ask that parents park further away and then walk with your children to the school entrance.

I do not want a serious or fatal incident involving any of the St Nicolas School family. I hope I can call upon your support to ensure that everyone remains safe. Your cooperation in this matter would be very much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Mr R.Furniss
Headteacher
